This rapier type weapon was quite prevalent during the renaissance era, and here you will find many images of combatants competing in various tournament and war scenarios. Anyone 16 years old or older may learn this type of combat. It does not require much in the way of armor and protective gear to safely compete, which further adds to its popularity.
